Data sources.

Clear provenance, no mystery scraping.

Steam

When enabled, Backlog Reaper uses Steam OpenID for optional account verification and official Steam interfaces to retrieve data only after a user requests a profile check or connection. Steam handles sign-in on its own site; the service receives a numeric Steam ID and does not request, intercept, or store Steam passwords. Public data may include profile identifiers, owned games, total and recent playtime, achievement unlocks, and aggregate Store review counts depending on profile visibility and API availability. Library results are cached for up to six hours, candidate achievement results for up to twelve hours, and aggregate review results for up to twenty-four hours.

Scoring limits

Achievement percentage is a ranking signal, not a claim about campaign completion. Aggregate Steam reviews describe the reviewing population and do not predict an individual user's enjoyment. Public platform data and modeled scores can be incomplete or wrong, and no recommendation guarantees that you will enjoy or finish a game.

Provider rules

Steam data is displayed for personal use, provided “as is,” subject to provider limits, and removed when required by provider terms. Backlog Reaper does not imply affiliation with Valve. Steam and the Steam logo are trademarks of Valve Corporation.

Store recommendations and outbound links

If you affirmatively enable Store recommendations, Backlog Reaper may include games that are not in the submitted library. Those results are identified as Store picks and may link directly to the game's official Steam Store page. Opening a link does not make a purchase. Store prices, availability, requirements, and regional restrictions are controlled by Steam and the relevant publisher. Store recommendations are not sponsored and Backlog Reaper currently receives no payment for clicks or purchases; any future paid or affiliate relationship must be clearly disclosed beside the relevant link.

Game metadata and artwork

Production titles, descriptions, completion estimates, and cover art must come from sources whose licenses permit the intended commercial and advertising use. Unlicensed scraping or copied publisher artwork is not part of this prototype.
