The core ranker uses essential session storage and cookie-free first-party usage counts.

Essential storage

• backlogreaper-session: encrypted session state, profile-name entry, and security flow; normally expires after two hours of inactivity.
• XSRF-TOKEN: protects forms against cross-site request forgery.

First-party analytics

Backlog Reaper counts successful HTML page views and daily unique visitors on its own server. It sets no analytics cookie, uses no browser analytics storage, sends no analytics data to a third party, and rotates the visitor hash daily. Raw IP addresses are not written to the analytics tables. Analytics records are retained for 90 days.
